Hemel Horror
As well as offering my services as a videographer, I have made a number of fiction films. This page collects together three of them made with the now defunct film making groups Hemel Hempstead MovieMakers and Borehamwood MovieMakers. They can only be loosely defined as belonging to the "Horror" genre, in that they each have a slightly sinister component to their plots. However that is a common approach - the popular channel "Talking Pictures" runs a Cellar Club that aggregates a diverse range of films and presents them as such.
The Innocence of Play
Amanda tries to love her younger brother Simon, but he makes it very hard. Idling his way through the summer between 'A' Levels and uni, he spends his time tinkering in the garage, perhaps furthering his studies, perhaps playing. But he is unprepared for the consequences. In an instant, the innocence of an English summer is shattered forever, and Amanda faces the dilemma of a lifetime.
The Only Way Is Up
The initial idea behind this psychological drama was the confusion brought on by a multi-storey car park in Hemel where heading down to the bottom to find the shops or the way out just doesn't work - the cars enter and leave on level three, the shops on various different levels. For this short film the idea was developed way beyond this however, to include crime, mysticism and retribution.

The "Making Of" for this video concentrates on the extensive post-production editing that was employed.
Sanctuary
The initial driver for this video was to parody the sub-genre of end-of-the-world dystopian disaster movies which themselves often mimic the style of news and current affairs documentaries.
